Arkansas has a Christmas "Trail of Lights" they call Lights of the Ozarks, and one of the featured spots was in my university town. Stuart and I decided to make a date out of it to celebrate our second anniversary(three days late, we aren't too picky) after we accidentally drove through it one frozen midnight (taco bell run).
Most of the pictures came out pretty blurry, I didn't shoot too many to begin with: it was really really cold and also it was a date!, but there were a few I salvaged, and a few that I think are worth you looking at in particular.
This shot took a while to get together since the shutter release button on the D40 was misbehaving and not wanting to push, so it didn't take the first time we posed, and then I forgot to set it back to timer mode, etc etc etc xD Anyways, we look cute!
I really liked the way the leaves looked against the dark sky with the lights on them. The rest of the frame was just filler, imho.
I got this shot lined up and gave it to stu to shoot, and he took a few, and this one was just beautiful. I made a christmas card out of it (it's in the folder if you want to see it). The red lights behind me are in the outline of a razorback pig, the University of Arkansas mascot 8)
