One day in French class, Madame Cioppa asked us if we'd be interested in a trip to France. She had found one that was in London and Paris we could go to over spring break of my junior year, and I was naturally excited. Then in July or whenever, they had the Paris bus bombings, so a bunch of schools cancelled, and suddenly we were left without enough people to warrant a trip, so we went to just London instead.
There are a bunch more pictures in the london/ folder, but I wish there were much more. i only had one memory card with me (a 128 i think xD) so I maxed out at about 124 pictures, sadly. I'll go back sometime 8) Also these are really touristy, so I tried not to pick very touristy ones, but what can you do, alas?
It was very lonely being on another continent for a week without having internet or the time to talk to my boyfriend much. I made a couple of payphone calls with an overseas phone card and those really cool 50 pence coins, but it wasn't the same. So seeing his screenname on a license plate in Canterbury was very very comforting.
I had recently had my interest in Dover piqued by listening to The Decemberists, so this was one of my preferred stops. I love the way it looks.
I like the way this shot was framed. It was so cold and windy outside that day, but the inside of the castle was very boring, so I didn't stay inside it long, so i was very cold. it was also very dark, so this is really the only kind of picture you could take without flash!
This was the closest I got to france that week and also ever.
There's a spot on a fence you can climb up and lean over to get this shot of the cliffs.
I have no idea who this chica was, but she's pretty cool looking.
Canterbury was pretty epic on the inside.
I wonder what this scene was.
I was so disappointed with Stonehenge, to tell you the truth. All my life I kinda thought it would be towering blocks, but no, they are 13 feet tall. That's barely more than twice my height. It made their achievement a lot less impressive, because i thought those rocks were like 20 or 50 foot tall. It was also raining and we couldn't get but 40 feet away.
Bath was also really cool. I'd never really heard about it before the day we went there, so it was just 'whoa!'. You can't actually go in the bath because of bacteria, but the ducks don't seem to care!
This is one of the few pictures I got taken of me on this trip. It was very depressing because I was with a bunch of girls who were stuck up hags whom I didn't like, and of course the ones I did like, were always talking to them, so it was pretty lonely.
People threw paper money into this thing. how retarded.
A nice cityscape from the London Eye!
